Formulas to elaborate your spells and potions



We can receive infinite gifts of nature from plants. Some are purely specific and quantifiable, such as the alleviation of symptoms or disease. Others, on the other hand, belong to a more indeterminate field. At what point do we cross boundaries and begin to attribute symbolic or spiritual qualities to plants? From using them to «heal» symptoms and illnesses to curing other needs?

It is the fuzzy and endless boundaries that define this uncertain terrain of what we call magic. A term with a pejorative connotation, but which in reality only encompasses everything we approach based on intuition and belief.

The proportions vary according to the different formulas to elaborate your spells, potions, waters, sahumerios, as an example we can see the proportion 3/7, this refers to 3 as a minimum of herbs to use and 7 as maximum. Here are the following formulas:


1. To attract love 3/7

Oleander, basil, saffron, cinnamon, cardamom, plum, endive, tarragon, raspberry, strawberry, gentian, geranium, jasmine, chamomile.


2. For exorcising 5/7

Oats, thistle, frankincense, mallow, mistletoe, nettle, peony, pine, rosemary, rue, sandalwood.


3. To attract money 3/7

Poplar, alfalfa, dill, ginger, nutmeg, elder, sesame.


4. For divination 3/7

Dandelion, pomegranate, hibiscus, ground ivy, fig, orange, meadow sweet.


5. FOR HEALING 5/12

Amaranth, angelica, mugwort, burdock, cedar, citron, wild plum, carnation, eucalyptus, peppermint, laurel, flax, plantain.

 

Rituals and spells

Sahumerio

  • Open the windows.
  • Place coarse salt or sand, as it helps to neutralize negative energies. When finished, you will have to throw it away.
  • On top of the salt or sand, place a lit charcoal.
  • Place 7 incense pebbles.
  • Put the mixture on the charcoal, on the incense.
  • Turn 7 times wrapping yourself in the circles of the smoke, if it is to be used on yourself and if it is for another, walk in circle 7 times around it.
  • Inside the houses place 2 minutes in the center of each room, leave 2 minutes on the floor in the center of the room and then in the 4 corners.
  • Finish by throwing all the residue out of the house, with due caution.

Energized Water

Place holy water in a wide container and sprinkle it with a branch of rue, laurel, or rosemary or all three, towards the four corners of each room. Preferably, do it with lustral water (blessed on Holy Thursday).


For exteriors

Some suggestions:

A) With onion:

Purple or red for the sick. Chop it in half and change it daily.
White Valenciana for rooms with bad vibes. Cut in 4 and ¼ placed in all corners. Absorbs all negativity.


B) Conditioning Soap:

Use finely grated castile soap, coconut, or glycerin dilute in boiling water. When the heat is gone, add thick herbal tea, knead and make pellets. If you put too much water in it, it becomes a shampoo.


C) Tinctures or Colognes:

Add fresh or dried herbs to a small amount of alcohol. Cover, shake daily and within a week it is ready.


D) Ointment: add alcohol tincture to liquid and solid petroleum jelly, combine with lanolin or beeswax in a water bath.


E) A very thick ointment with added wicks looks like this: Very good with the properties of dyes used in candles.


F) Oil: Use extra virgin olive oil or almond oil as a base.

Add herbs and keep in the dark for 15 days, shaking daily.
Filter and add the same mixture, but with new herbs.

Throughout history, plants have always been associated with rituals, especially in religious traditions. In the spiritual world, they are used as healing remedies in the spiritual and healing world and have great power. Our ancestors knew of many uses of plants, both medicinal and magical.
